Hands Holding Chatter
Hands Holding Chatter is a series of large-scale percussive instruments constructed from metal, wood and paper.
Grab a drum mallet and give this xylophone a whack!
I am interested in how the creative process relies on the act of collaboration. As artists, our materials inform our choices, just as conversation and our communal values do as well. In the city, and outside of it, one cannot avoid the living sounds of everything around us. There is joy in making music together. Sound has the capacity to connect us in ways we don’t entirely understand. All of the wooden hands on this structure are unique and resonate slightly differently from one another. Listen to what each one has to say, participate in our sonic playground! This work is about discovery and collaboration.
